What is World Children's Picture Contest?

The World Children's Picture Contest has been held as part of its cultural activities since 1993 in order to promote awareness of the importance of nature and agriculture as well as to encourage friendship and goodwill among children around the world and help them develop well-rounded characters.

INVITAION TO THE 20TH ANNUAL WORLD CHILDREN'S PICTURE CONTEST

Condition

(1) Theme

The artwork must be one of the following themes:
"Agriculture" "Farming Area" "Nature" "Environment"
"Local People" or "Family"

(2) Eligible Participants

6 - 15 years old

(3) Application Period

June 1 -October 1, 2012
(Pictures must be received by the IE-NO-HIKARI Association during this time.)

(4) Rules for Pictures

• Maximum
728mm X 515mm X 3mm (thickness)
• Materials
Any materials is acceptable.
• Method
Any method is acceptable.

(5) Application Procedure

Please fill out the application form and send it to the IE-NO-HIKARI Association.

(6) Notice

  1. (1)Please submit only one picture per child.
  2. (2)We cannot accept any co-work pictures or help from teachers or other persons.
  3. (3)We cannot accept other artist’s copies or characters
  4. (4)We don’t return the works.
  5. (5)We have all rights of the works and they may be published at a future date.

(7)How to Participate in the Contest & How to Send the Picture

Prizes

IE-NO-HIKARI Association will award certificate to a total of 200 participants as follows
  • Gold Prize : 20 entries
  • Silver Prize : 40 entries
  • Bronze Prize : 60 entries
  • Honorable Mention : 80 entries
Gold prize, Silver prize, Bronze Prize and Honorable Mention winners will also receive awards.

Announcement of the Winners

After the winning pictures are chosen, we will send a letter of announcement to every participating organization in April 2013.
Results will be announced on the IE-NO-HIKARI Association website in end of January 2013.

Publication of the Prize-Winning pictures

The accepted works will be published into a commemorative books to be presented to each winner through the participating organization(s) of each country.

Use of the Prize-Winning pictures

  1. (1) We will hold an exhibition of the Prize Winning pictures.
  2. (2) We will lend the Prize Winning Pictures to schools or the educational institutions.
  3. (3) We will encourage the InSEA and the public institutions to use the pictures.

Judgment

Japanese painters and experts such as the Director-general of The National Museum of Modern Art (Tokyo), the Professor of Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, a the Professor Seitoku University, the Chairperson of Japan Federation of Art Education Teachers, the President of Tokyo Metropolitan Art Teacher’s Society of Primary School will judge the pictures in October and November by rigorous adjudication.
